Magkatulong na dumaluhong ang Hukbong Karagatan at Katihan sa Hongkong. Sa kabila ng ma- higpit na pagtatanggol ng kalaban, ang hukbo natin ay dumaong sa Pulo ng Hongkong. Tinanggihan ni Gobernador-Heneral Young ang ilang ulit na payo na sumuko na, ngunit noong ika 25 ng Disyembre ang Hongkong ay ating nakamtan. HPHE Japanese Forces that entered the Kowloon Peninsula on Dec- -*- ember 8 captured Kowloon City on the 13th. With the Army and Navy cooperating the attack on Hongkong started. The enemy stubbornly resisted but our Forces bravely landed on the island under heavy enemy fire. Governor General Young de'ied our repeated advice to surrender and on December 25 Hongkong fell into our hands. Ana pagdating ng mga katulong buhat sa Kowloon hanggang sa Hongkong. From Kowloon to Hongkong. The coming of the reenforcements. Ang Hukbong Karagatan at Katihan Hapones ay pumasok sa Hongkong, lapanese Army and Navy enter Hongkong.

This edition of Japanese propaganda magazine, “Shin Seiki” (text in Tagalog and English), published by the Department of Information, was brought back to America by Carr and Ruth Hooper who were interned at Santo Tomas Internment Camp in Manila, Philippines from January 1942 to February 1945. Hand-written notes made by Carr refer to several photos and captions. The camp, also known as the Manila Internment Camp, was run by the Japanese military during World War II and housed over 3,000 internees from January 1942 until February 1945.
