Amnesty International, a non-partisan human rights movement, has been working for twenty five years to free prisoners on conscience, promote fair trials for all political prisoners, and end torture and executions worldwide. The W. Carolina chapter of Amnesty International will meet Nov. 19,7:00 p.m. at classroom A, Hunter Library. The local chapter meets once a month to write letters, and send telegrams on behalf on political prisoners. This month, the group will be viewing an Amnesty International video and discussing the current situation in Korea regarding students and other people arrested there for opposition to the government. Also WCU Amnesty International members will be participating In a "Wrlte-a- thon" throughout the month of November. Members will write letters (at a special meeting) on behalf of the prisoners in various countries and sponsors will pay $1 per letter.
