  • Writing yesterday I neglected to mention with thanks (as I should have done) your enclosure (in your letter of 13th) of the “Chicago News” piece on “November Boughs” a very excellent review and most acceptable to me. I have just read it- put it away in its place in my collection and entered it in my “W.W. Bibliography” which is becoming quite formidable in its proportions. Now (11 a.m.) comes your post card of 15th and the “Engineering Record” containing the obituary of J.W. tears came to my eyes as I read it- tears for “the days that are no more”. But all that is wrong and foolish- there is no dead past and no dreary future. – There is, always has been, always will be, a real eternal present which contains all things and one day we shall see it. For years I have hoped to know Jeff here but now I am content to wait until I know him there. R. M. Bucke
