Murphy: Gentlemen, I am requested oy Dr Thomas Lawrence to invite the members to visit and inspect the Normal and Collegiate Institute as they return from Biitmore House tomarweow morning. Mr Daniels: I move a vote of thank* for the invitation. Seconded and unanimously carried. ur Daniels: I desire to present a_so the following resolutions: " Resolved that me thanks of mis convention oe tendered to Major E. t. McKissick for his courteous and generous hospitality in the enteriainaient of trie delegates to mis convention, and our appreciation of the important part he has contributed towards it s success. Retoived further that the thanks of the convention be ai3o tendered the board of Trade of the City of Asheville and its Committees. Resolved further thai our thanks are tendered to the Asheville Daily Citizen and the Asheville Morning Gazette for their assistance in furthering the interests of this convention. We further tender our tnanks to the ^shevi.ie Club for its kind and courteous treatment. This 38-page document describes the November 22, 1899 meeting at which the Appalachian National Park Association was formed. Included in the meeting minutes is a speech by Senator Marion Butler (1863-1938), a U.S. Senator from North Carolina. The minutes include short addresses by others as well as election results and the formation of committees.
