  • < ready parks, and we want a southern park. But by trie way, this committee has left out the main object of this park association, and that is me preservation of the forests. When we go to Congress we must snow that the forest reservation is the main thing, and that its preservation in order to protect the country in its streams and rivers is absolutely essential. We must show them that it is a forest preserve we are after. The Chairman: Gentlemen, there are I jo names before the convention, the Appalachian, and the Southern. What ha3 been 3aid as to the preservation of the forest might equally be said as to health. Col. Waddeli: I think the shorter we can make the name the better. The purpose of the association need not be included in the name. The incorporation of the association can and will state the purposes of the organization.
