  • The second group consists of children who have difficulty in one or more school subjects or who are physically or otherwise handicapped. For this group, guidance classes will be provided up to and including fourteen years of age. The third group consists of high school students wishing to earn credit. Courses in the areas of English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies will be offered. (See page 5.) In addition to these features appropriate clinical services are provided. A clinical psychologist works on diagnosing difficulties and on planning remediation. For Teachers Interested In Special Education With the growing emphasis everywhere on Special Education, the College is particularly interested in setting up a curriculum in Special Education with a two-fold purpose: First, to provide training in particular areas of need for regular classroom teachers. Second, to provide courses to meet degree and certification requirements for teachers wishing, while working for the Master of Arts degree, to specialize in the areas of the Slow-learning Child and Speech Correction. The degree requirements for this curriculum are listed under "Course Requirements" (see page 21).
