  • 2 her job. The promised increase in salary at the Neurological Institute did not come, & she could barely live on what she received. Best of all she now has a Civil Service job & is in charge of the work. It is a T.B. place — mostly children. She has been at the head of the C.S (state) list for a long time, but the woman in charge managed to wangle her “frets” over M’s head. The nearest town — Ronkonkoma — 5 miles north. About 7 miles north is Port Jefferson on the northern branch of the L.I. R.R.; about 7
