  • 248 CENTER STREET BANGOR, MAINE July 31, 1927. Dear Dad, We thought you might like to see what Roy Ferris looks like. These were taken in the park near our house when Roy was a little over three months old. He is a great kid, and its a real fascination to watch him develop so fast. Had a good trip in Nova Scotia, but was naturally glad to get home again. Last week I was in Canada again this time in Fredricton, the capital of New Brunswick. It is a real old town with some interesting places, I imagine. We were out in the woods all day, for the three days we were there, so I didn't see much of the town. We drove down along the St, John River from Woodstock to Fredricton, about sixty miles, and it was A pretty drive most of the way. It is strange how much difference there is as soon as you cross the line. Everything slows down, and the folks there don't seem to be a bit prosperous. Perhaps it is the Scotch in their blood that makes them extra thrifty and cautious, but I think it is more a case of being a few years behind us in their development. And of course they lost a great many young men, and that has had its effect since the war. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we did in taking them. In another month he will be entirely different . * George *meaning “even finer”! Pauline
