C. /Dear Sir:- T have just received your favor of the 11th inst., incorrectly addressed to Elizabeth City, R.MC. T note that a meeting will be held in Asheville on the 22nd inst., to formulate plans for submitting to Congress the scheme of establishing a National Park in Western North Carolina, and that you do me the honor of inviting me to be present and to be your guest while in Asheville. I feel a deep interest in this projectta^t par^", and, if it were possible, 1 would surely attend, but just at this time, 1 am particularly busy trying to get my private affairs in shape to leave home, and I also have a home- court on my hands. I shall thank you to send me as full a report of the meeting as may be published. M. C.
