  • WESTERN CAROLINA UNIVERSITY cullowhee. north Carolina 28723 HUNTER LIBRARY Archives and Special Collections September 24, 1973 Mr„ Glenn Cardwell Sugarlands Visitor Center Gatlinburg, Tennessee 37738 Dear Glenn: I enjoyed talking with you a few minutes ago. All arrangements have been made0 I will be in Sugarlands between 10 and 11 on Thursday, October 11, 1973o I will be alone- with a N.C. State stationwa&on. I will, of course, be prepared to make two (2) trips if necessary. No special authorization for Park Service personnel to use the materials is necessary since our hours are 8-5 daily, five days a week. Under North Carolina State law we must keep these hours- and make these collections available to all who want to use them. I would deeply appreciate it if you could provide someone to help me load on the Uth. I will, of course, have some workstudy student assistance here. Of course, it might be possible to bring along one of my two assistants (the boy, Dave Haskins). I deeply appreciate all you have done for me. I can assure you that the materials wiShl be well-taken care of. I do not believe I have ever worked with more cooperative people than you, Paul McCrary, Dick Russell and the other men and women of the Park Serviceo Sincerely yours, &«& Richard ¥.
