13 Abram's Creek carries the drainage from the Tennessee side of the Smokies from Thunderhead to Gregory Bald. About three miles down the creek from Cedes Cove is the greceful Abrem's Falls end the point below the fells is e ideal place for swimmers. It is on Meigs Creek near the line between Sevier and Blount Counties of Tennessee. The creek as well as the mountain from which lt flows was named for the man who surveyed the line of an Indian treaty boundary. The 24-page “Best Loved Scenes in the Smokies” was published in 1955 as a guidebook describing the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Each page has several black and white photographs of notable sites that are titled and described. The booklet is both a guidebook and a promotional piece for the “Thompsons,” referring to Knoxville photographers Jim and Robin Thompson. A page at the back of the book indicates that prints are available for sale. James E. (Jim) Thompson (1880-1976) and brother, Robin Thompson (1895-1977) were both photographers. In the 1920s they were partners in Thompson Brothers Commercial Photography, a firm started by their father in 1902. In 1927, the brothers went their separate ways, each taking on various photographic interests.
