Additionally, some univer- sities and community colleges in North Caro- lina have proceeded to ban arene across the board. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh are two of some 48 colleges and community colleges within North Carolina to completely ban smoking on the premises of their campuses. Each of these institutions has enacted their bans in reaction to the climbing mountain of scientific research and evidence into the health risks of tobacco smoke inhala- tion.
