  • WCnewsmagazine 35 Lamities third place finish in javelin throw. For the men the 4x100 meter relay team led the way with a NCAA Regional qualifying and CAC record time of 40.31 to win. Senior Milton Bolton, freshman Kevin Johnson, sophomore Zeb Johnson, and sophomore Mike Malone comprised the record-setting team. Zeb then went out and qualified for the NCAA regionals in the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.88. Teammate Manteo Mitchell finished second in the event with a 21.11, while Kevin Johnson finished third with a 21.63. In the 400-meters, Bolton set a new CAC record with a time of 47.30. Mitchell finished second with a time of 47.87, while junior James Gregory finished third with a time of 48.80. Zeb and Kevin finished second and third respectively in the 100 meters, only beaten by East Tennessee State's James Rainer. In the high jump, senior Lawrence Briscoe took home first with a jump of 6 foot and 2.75 inches. Briscoe then took his multiple talents to the 110-meter hurdles for a victory (14.54) and to the 400-meter hurdles for a second place finish, Charleton Grant finished third in the 400-meter hurdies. Senior Adam Puett won two events for the Cats. Puett took first in the 800-meter run (1:56.67) and the 1,500-meter run (3:59.04). In the 4x400 meters, Western's C team finished second, David Bowles finished second in the javelin throw, while Chris Gaillard finished third in the triple jump.
