  • _ f% WESTERN *k» 2 CaroliniaN NEWS September t, 1999 August 24 At 10:30 p.m., officers cited a male student for underage possession of alcohol and possession of a fictitious drivers' license after officers found him in the HFR parking lot. A female student was also cited for underage possession of alcohol and littering. At 2:05 a.m., a student reported that a window was broken in his room in Harill between 1:50 a.m. and 1:55 a.m. August 25 At 6:20 p.m., officers received a report of an injured student over the blue light phone in the Walker A lot. A male student had a bicycle accident and was unconscious. He was transported to Harris Regional for treatment. At 4:54 p.m., staff members reported a vehicle on Catamount Road from which the occupants were yelling racial slurs. The investigation is continuing. At 10:15 p. m., officers arrested a male student in Harrill for possession of drug paraphernalia. At 10:45 p.m., officers responded to Helder Hall on a report of marijuana odor. The source could not be identified. At 11:30 p. m., officers responded to Leatherwood on a report of the odor of marijuana but could not identify the location of the odor. August 26 At 11:00 a.m., a student in Scott reported his roommate missing since Tuesday. The missing male student was located later in the day. At noon, officers identified the driver of a vehicle from which racial slurs had been yelled on Catamount Road yesterday. The driver, an African-American female, stated that the passenger in her car was singing a rap song out the window. She was counseled and released. At 10:09 p.m., officers noticed that a vehicle parked in the Walker lot had been struck by paint balls and contacted the owner. The paint washed off, but left a dent. At 3:20 a.m., officer arrested a male student for DWI. Intoxilyzer results were .10%. August 27-29 At 6:02 p.m. on 8/27, officers interviewed two male juveniles who were in possession of a bicycle which did not belong to them at the UC during the Reggae Festival. Officers determined that the bicycles was borrowed and not stolen. At 8:45 p.m. on 8/27, officers assisted Housing staff with a black snake which was found on the first floor of Killian. Officers transported the snake off campus and released it. At 3:16 a.m. on 8/28, officers arrested a female student for DWI and a provisional licensee violation. Intoxilyzer results were .10%. At 12:45 a.m. on 8/29, officers assisted WCU EMS with a male student in Reynolds who was extremely intoxicated. The incident is referred to Student Affairs. At 11:55 p. m. on 8/29, officers assisted WCU EMS at Leatherwood where a male student had lost consciousness. The student was transported to Harris Regional for treatment.
