  • August 18, 1999 NEWS B3 Pu.S.H. August 6-8 At 3:15 a.m. on 8/6, students in Albright reported that a male was acting disorderly on a female floor of the residence hall. The male had torn the shirt of another student who tried to escort him off the floor. Warrants were drawn charging the first student with damage to personal property and he was arrested. Officers provided traffic control and security for the summer Commencement at the Ramsey Center on 8/6. During the event, persons in attendance noticed a bag of marijuana which had been dropped on the concourse and turned the material over to officers there. A father expressed concern about contractors working in Scott during move-in activities on 8/8. August 9 Officers escorted a male employee of contractors working at Scott off campus and provided transportation for him to his motel room after he was terminated by the company at 11:40 a.m. He was banned from campus before being released. August 11 Officers assisted JCSD at 10:36pm with a vehicle stop in front of the steam plant. The operator of the vehicle was driving with a revoked license and marijuana was found in the vehicle. The subject was cited by the Deputy. August 12 On 8/12 at 12:31am officers responded to a call reference suspicious male subjects in the Helder Parking Lot. Two male non-students were apprehended and a third got away on foot. The third male has been identified. The investigation is continuing with multiple charges of breaking into vehicles, larceny, and damage to property pending. Officers found a female and male student drinking in the South Harrill Parking Lot at 12:50am on 8/13. Both were warned about University Policy and underage drinking. August 13-15 On 8/15 at 6:30 p.m., officers arrested two male non-students on charges of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, larceny, and damage to personal property in connection with an incident which occurred at Helder last week. Bond was set at $9000 for one and $4000 for the other. Warrants are pending on one additional male non- students. Officers cited a male student for displaying an expired registration plate and a campus citation for speeding at 4:31 p.m. on 8/13.
