Hwy 441 Fax 631-9592 public safety hig October 13 Officers responded to a report of a computer on fire in Reid at 2:05 p.m. The fire was extinguished when they arrived. A male student charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia pled guilty in District Court in Sylva. He was placed on probation. Officers arrested a male student from Walker for DWI at 11:35 p.m. Intoxilyzer results were .13% Housing staff reported the odor of marijuana on the 7th floor of Harrill at 11:50 p.m. Officers identified the source of the smoke, searched the room and charged two students with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. October 14 An employee of the University Center reported that a computer keyboard was stolen from the computer study room on the second floor between 10/13 at 5:00 p.m. and 10/14 at 11:20 a.m. Officers responded to a report of someone throwing objects from the 4th floor of Scott Hall at 1:31 a.m. They found articles outside the study room window on the ground, but the suspect(s) had left the study. October 15 A student reported that she was receiving harassing and obscene phone calls from the room of a male acquaintance at 10:20 p.m. Officers interviewed the sus pect who admitted making the calls. The victim asked that the suspect not be prosecuted. The incident is referred to Student Affairs for disciplinary action. Officers assisted Housing staff with an intoxicated student in Scott Hall at 9:30p.m. * . Officers assisted Housing staff with a noise call and alcohol violations on the first floor of Albright, an alcohol-free floor. The incident is referred to Student Affairs. Octoher 16-18 Officers assisted a parent who stated that her son was supposed to come home for the weekend. At 2:40 a.m. on 10/17, officers found the subject in his room and asked him to call home. A student reported that her car was intentionally scratched while it was parked in front of Scott between 4:00 p.m. on 10/ 16 and 1:00 p.m. on 10/17. Officers assisted the SECT team and WestCare with a student who received a head injury while playing football on the intramural fields near Belk at 2:45 p.m. on 10/18. The student was transported to Harris Regional Hospital for treatment. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance on the first floor of Stillwell on 10/18 at 8:20 p.m. They found a meeting in progress where a heated discussion had taken place. A student reported that the windshield of his vehicle was cracked by gravel which appeared to have come from off NC 107 above the Walker A lot between 11:59 p.m. on 10/16 and 3:15 p.m. on 10/18. Officers found one other car-which had suffered similar damage. A student reported that her clothes were stolen from a dryer in the laundry room at Harrill between 11:00 a.m. and noon.
