According to Brett Fansler, the vice- president of SGA, the newly-passed bills have been forwarded to the administration for approval. In recent years, there has been an increasing parking problem, especially for commuter students. A bill passed by the SGA will allow commuter students to park near Reid gym after 5:30 pm when the busy hours are over. Another bill passedconcerns extending the hours of service in Brown Cafeteria on weekends. Marriott management responded thattheyare open to working with SGA and rescheduling the hours of service to meet student demand. SGA also passed a bill requesting more pay phones around the campus. The last bill passed had to do with the re-opening of the skating rink near Ramsey Center. The rink was damaged several years ago and needs major repair. Cameron highlighted that the aim of the International program is to increase the diversity of people together, learning different things from one another. Through the International Club, people are able to meet each other by getting together and sharing their views. Members of this club manifest their cultures and social ways of living. For the past twenty years, the club has organized an international Festival in which participants exhibit various cultures around the world by preparingdelicious food, playing music, dressing themselves in their traditional clothes and showing off their cultures. This event, though celebrated only once a year, is an opportunity for general education for everyone. All people are welcome for this year's festival scheduled around April 7. WCU has a small but active study program for US. students overseas. The department of Geosciences and Anthropology has a program designed specifically for Mexico. The department of Criminal Justice also hopes to provide the same opportunity soon. Cameron was appointed last summer to execute the program. Since the program is still in its early stages, interested parties are not obligated to go through WCU .
