Unit of energy Porno for F by Porno for Pyros Trey Colvard Staff Reporter >, y 1 r C > s Ihe former | Jane s Addiction frontman, Music Review Perry Ferrell is back in the r~ 1 saddle, but this time with fresh guitar and bass players that incorporate a new and quite unique sound with new band Porno for Pyros. Perry held on to his old faithful from Jane's Addiction, drummer Stephen Perkins. However, Perkins takes a new direction with his work in percussion by adding a bit more on bongos and baby toms. New guitarist Peter DeStefno and bassist Martyn Le Noble seem to bring a more crisp and clear sound to Ferrell's new band. An accordion is also used which gives the album a different sound than most. In comparison to Jane's Addiction work, the self-entitled Porno for Pyros offers some of the same type of musical rhythms with a bit of a twist. When added to Perry Ferrell's creative artistic insights that make up his multicolored lyrics the final sum is nothing short of a pleasant but sometimes frightening journey. For those who had a taste for Jane's Addiction, this al- bumshouldbequite enjoyable. I strongly recommend Porno for Pyros with four stars on a five-star scale.
