The ladies played UNCC during their October road trip in a tough contest in which the 49ers gave the Cats one of their four defeats. The girls are coming off victories over Gardner-Webb and Elon Tuesday night in Breece Gym. Betty Peele, coach of the volleyball team, says her team is looking forward to UNCC coming up here and playing the Lady Cats at home. She felt that if her girls defeated UNCC tomorrow night, they could very well get a bid to the regional tournament at Francis-Marion College. The team has the NCA1WA State Tournament to play on November 12-13 where they will be defending their state championship before they possibly compete in the regionals. The UNCC game will be the last time you will be able to see a fine volleyball team play in the area. The game is scheduled for 6:00 in Breece Gym and the team appreciates all the support the fans have given the team throughout the year.
