  • THE WESTERN CAROLNIAN/February 14, 1980/Page9 Education: taking it to the malls ASHEVlLLE--Courses in home solar energy, microcomputer basics, and reducing your federal and state income tax burden are among the spring semester courses to be offered at the Asheville Mall by WCU. A part of WCU's continuing series of Learn and Shop, and Lunch and Learn programs, the courses are among 18 non-credit, self-supporting courses that are offered in conjunction with the Asheville Mall, Belk, Ivey's and Sears department stores. Classes meet in the training rooms made available by Belk, Ivey's and Sears and are held during the day and in the evening. Learn and Shop courses mainly deal with hobbies and special interests, self-improvement, or business and finance. Lunch and Learn sessions meet at noontime in the S&W Cafeteria and are designed for persons who want to learn more about selected topics and can stretch their lunch hours occasionally. Lunch is included in the $10 per session fee and is served promptly at the beginning of the program. Registration is requested three days in advance. Learn and Shop courses to be offered this semester are: The Booklovers' Circle (Wednesdays, 7-8:30 p.m., Feb. 20-March 19, $25) coordinated by Bill Moore; Home Solar Energy Workshop (Mondays, 6-7:30 p.m., Feb. 25-March 31, $35) taught by Shawn McMillian; Creative Writing for Women (Tuesdays, 10 a.m.-noon, Feb. 19-March 25, $40) taught by Joy Bannerman; Ancient Israel in Perspective (Mondays, 7-8:30 p.m., Club presidents All clubs and organizations presidents need to contact Scott Craig at 293-5251 or Scott Davis at 227-4332 to find out if they have an updated constitution and record of officers on file in the SGA office.
