The Pat Terry Group is a trio of young men with amazingly similar backgrounds: Each was musically gifted from early childhood, each one is a Georgian (from the same area), and each one had an "encounter" with Christ, which developed into a lifetime experience. With this common ancestry and view on life, the three, Randy Bugg, Sonny Lallerstedt, and namesake Pat Terry banded together in a "commitment". Says "PTG" member Randy Bugg of the commitment, "We want to convey that Christianity is a total lifetime experience-not a one time emotional encounter. We sing and share a lot about the beautiful things that happen when a person lets Christ take complete control of his life." Obviously, that commitment goes deeper that just music-and what music! With each member a guitarist and prolific composer Pat Terry writing much of their material, the group's music is their own-a fact that adds something special to music and makes lyrics come to life. Now that you've been introduced to the Pat Terry Group, "treat yourself to something very, very special" and enjoy the concert on Thursday; you'll find the "PTG" and their music naturally fitting the lyrics of Bread's "Guitar Man": "Then you listen to the music and you like to sing along; you want to get the meaning out of each' and every song; then you find yourself a message and some words to call your own...and take them home..." Unto these hills Auditions for the Cherokee outdoor drama "Unto These Hills" will be held Friday, Jan. 18, in WCU's Hoey Auditorium. Information on the auditions for the drama, which runs each year from June through August may be obtained by contacting the WCU Department of Speech and Theatre Arts, Room 123 Stillwell Building, telephone 227-7491.
