In "L' Histoire du Soldat" the part of the soldier will be read by John Slater and that of the devil by John Davlin. "An Entertainment" will be repeated at 3p.m. Sunday at the John C. Campbell Folk School at Brasstown and at 8:15p.m. Tuesday in the Fine Arts Center at Franklin. The Festival Orchestra will journey to Cashiers Saturday for a 5:30p.m. pop concert on the grounds at High Hampton Inn. The Hampton Learning Center will be local host for the concert, which will be free to the public. The Festival Orchestra will return to Cullowhee at 8:15p.m. Sunday for a performance in WCU's Music Recital Hall. The program will include Mozart's Symphony No. 41, the "Jupiter" symphony, "Pastoral d'Ete" by Honegger, and "El Amor Brujo" by da Falla. Joyce Farwell will be the mezzo-soprano soloist in the da Falla work. Oltman will conduct. Soprano Jeanette Lombard will present a recital at 8:15p.m. Monday in the Music Recital Hall, performing arias and songs by Vivaldi, Debussy, von Webern, Copland, Barber and Verdi. Her accompanist will be Barbara Dooley. Miss Lombard is a familiar face to area concert goers. She has appeared in Cullowhee Music Festival operas for the past two years, and will be heard in "Die Fledermaus" here June 22-23. Wednesday (June 20) at noon there will be a free pops concert by the Festival Orchestra in the plaza outside WCU's new Music-English Building, and at 8:15p.m. Wednesday there will be an ensemble recital in the Music Recital Hall. Admission to the performances in Cullowhee will be free to WCU summer school students and $1 for other students. Admission for adults will be $3 for Sunday's orchestra concert and $2 for the smaller ensemble programs. In Franklin, individual admission will be $3.50 for adults and $1.50 for students on Thursday, and $2.50 and $1 on Tuesday. Admission to the Brasstown performance will be $2 for adults and $1 for students. The festival will continue through June 24.

The Western Carolinian is Western Carolina University's student-run newspaper. The paper was published as the Cullowhee Yodel from 1924 to 1931 before changing its name to The Western Carolinian in 1933.
