Representatives from the sociology, anthropology, history, political science and psychology departments will attend to their respective fields, methods and relationships. Subscribe Subscriptions are on sale until Jan. 24 in the residence halls and at the University Center. Freshman, sophmoresand juniors pay $2 while seniors pay $3.50 to cover postage and handling. Leaders Applications are being accepted for New Student Orientation Leaders. If interested in becoming a leader, pick up an application in Scott, room 107, or contact Dean Barbara Mann or David Atkins at (ph) 234. Applications must be returned by 5 p.m., February 7. Filing dates Filing for two vacant Sen- ator-atLarge seats in the Student senate will end today at 4 p.m. Four candidates are presently running in the special race. Elections for the campus- wide seats will be held on January 28 at the University Center. The new Senators elected will complete the remainder of the terms, both of which expire at the end of spring Quarter. Persons interested in filing for the seats may do so at the student government association offices, second floor, University Center. Social Service There will be a meeting of the Social Service Organization tonight at 7:30 in McKee 123. Two speakers from area agencies will be present to discuss the Social Action Volunteer Program. All interested persons are invited to attend. Home ECONS There will be a meeting of the American Home Economics Association today at 7 p.nio in the chapter room on the fourth floor of Belk Building- Buddy Clark from the Tuckasegee Valley Nursery will speak on house plants and their care. Education Majors All education majors who plan to student teach the 1975- 76 academic year must attend a meeting in Killian 104 on Tuesday, today, at 5 p.m., or Wednesday, at 5 p.m. The purpose of this meeting is to make application for student teaching for this summer and the 1975-76 academic year. The University Center Board is sponsoring a trip to Gatlinburg by chartered bus on Feb. 1. The bus will leave the U.C. parking lot at 9 a.m. Saturday and leave from Gatlinburg at 6:30 that night. There are 50 seats available with a $1.50 cover charge for the bus. There will be no planned agenda for the day but there will be a ski carnival in the process, as well as tourist attractions such as gift and draft shops, restaurants, museums, the Needle, Christus Gardens, the Witchcraft Museum and others.
