Last week's winner, Steve Haynes, out prognosticated all four of the Fearless Frocasters by missinga mere one contest— the Tuskagee J,C. Smith game, For his efforts, Haynes will receive by mail last week's spoils, Of the first week's entries, the largest number missed was seven, thus, the entire field picked better than 50% correct. The closest entrant to the total points in the WCU-ASU game was Jimmy Cole, Cole forcast 28 points and the actual total was 36. This week's contest boasts the same features: A. i'lace an "x" beside each team on the ballot that you know will win. B. Obviously, if you pick both teams on one line to win, you will lose. C. As a reward for his record, White has been allotted the following space for comment: "As the initial winner a- mongst the Fearless Forecasters, I feel it is my duty to pass on some inside information as to why my fellow panelists picked more losars than I. Coach Bob Waters was a close second with only three fumbles, He was undoubtedly busy preparing the Cats for the Appalachian game and was mentally drained when it came time to mark his ballot. However, he was a real winner with all the right answers last Saturday night. Look for another near miss by Waters this week as he devotes his full attention to the upsetting of Jacksonville State, Dr, Gurney E.. Chambers, resident second guesserandthe Coaches Analyst, found that brawn usually defeats brains on the gridiron as he suffered five defeats, Cullowhee's Prof o' the Year appeared to make his prognostications on the basis of academicprowessinsuch picks as Wake Forest over Miami and SMU over Missouri. His big pick this week, although not on your ballot, is George Peabody over Bob Jones University, Jungle Jim is in last place with only three wrongies, but but we disqualified him on two counts--!, conferring with Myrtle at the laundromat and 2. violation of Article IV, International Zip Dog Rules which states "thou shalt not count dead dogs on the way to an ath letic contest." The Jungle picks winners like he picks his nose —always close but manages to miss a few big ones, Then again, he might have been suffering from double vision caused by his mustache and eye brows becoming entangled. My biggie for the upcoming weekend has Florida's Doug Dickey gainingrevengeandkee- ping his job with an upset of Tennessee...that is if UT "volunteers" the football enough times. I picked up this info from Jungle Jim's interview of the exiled Florida 'Gator down in Mitchell's Moat," yauld 1 RE5TA.17RA.NT %4sPec/4t A I each ahcht;\ OP£H III -\o:oo mom-sat | 1 il-3:oo sunoay ALL HOUR PHOTOGRAP ••■••••>••>•*•■.■ V- PAPeR i CKeNUCALS;;:
