  • THE WESTERN CAROLINIAN Thursday, April 29, 1971 3 News Briefs SCRIBBLER'S TO MEET The Scribbler's Club will meet Sunday night at 8 p.m. in the office of the WESTERN CAROLINIAN, New members are encouraged to attend. STUDENT TEACHERS On Monday, May 3 and Thursday. May 6, there will be a meeting for all students who plan to student teach during Fall Quarter, 1971. The meet- mgs will begin at 4t00 p.m. in Killian 104. Attendance is required. STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS The last meeting of the Student Organization Council will be held on Monday, May 3, at 4:00 p.m. in the Cherokee Room of the Hinds University Center. The OLD as well as the NEW officers of your organization should attend this meeting as Officers will be elected for the 1971-72 academic year. BSU PLANS FOLK-ROCK The BSU is in the immediate process of establishing a folk- rock group. Anyone interested is asked to meet at the BSU Thursday, at 6:30 p.m. The business meeting will begin at 7:30, and Pause will follow at 9:00. POSTER REMOVED Will whoever removed the CSC "War is a good business", poster from the glass case in the Forsyth Building please be kind enough to return it. It's our publicity manager's favorite and he put a lot of time into it. You can turn it in, no questions asked, to the information desk at the UC and he'll pick it up there. Thanx. CLUBS, ORGANIZATIONS All clubs and organizations are requested to check the student senate mailbox in the University Center as soon as possible for important information. PIKA'S DONATE EYES During the last two weeks the members of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity have been obtaining eye donors. Working in conjunction with the North Carolina Eye Bank, they have gotten 140 donations. Any persons interested in this cause should contact any Pika as there are forms still available for the purpose of willing your eyes to the Eye Bank. PRE-REGISTRATION Pre-registration forfirstand second session summer school and fall quarter will be May 3-7. Processing of course request forms will take place in the Grandroom of the UC, May 5-7. Early payment of summer fees will be accepted by the Accounting Office May 25-June 4, Fall quarter fees may be mailed September 6-10. Registration materials will be available April 30 at the following locations— Information Booth, second floor, UC, Reid gym, Bird Administration Foyer, and Departmental Offices, STUDENT TEACHING All students who plan to student teach during the schorl year 1971-72 and who have not made application must do so Thursday, May 13, at 4:00 In 104 Killian Building.
