TJ J T>._x i j r, . _ Thursday, April 23, 1970 Symposium received well here The University Center Board wUl take applications for new members on Tuesday night, Ap« ril 30, at 7 p.m. in the grand- room of the University Center. All interested students of any class or major are invited to attend with the exception of graduating seniors. The UCB is the governing and policy meeting body of the University Center. With the exception of the Snack Bar, Restaurant, and Supply Store, the Board regulates activities of the University Center. The Board also provides entertainment, dances, and has representatives on various committees including Home coming, Winter Festival, and Spring Festival. This year, the Board was appropriated $9,000. Five thousand was set aside for Spring Festival and the remainder has been spent on publicity and several dances. The Board also handles all publicity for SPEC concerts and other evencs on campus. Next year, the UCB hopes to incorporate SPEC, LEC, and to assume the Student Senate's involvement in entertainment, This will provide more specialization and sophistication in student entertainment . . . .FROM Page 1 students and faculty in a lively interchange of facts and opinion. A coffee house followed, with Miss Heather Vick and others providing entertainment, donuts, and coffee. Thursday, the final day of the synposiim, was o have seen talks by Mr. W. E. Knight, director of the North Carolina state air pollution control program for the N.C. Department of Air and Water Resources, Raleigh. He was to be followed by Mr. Daryl Lowder, of the Inland Fisheries Division of the Wildlife Resources Commis sion, Raleigh. Thus, the afternoon session of the final day was to cover both air and ivater pollution control from the standpoint of state government.
