  • Page 20 THE WESTERN CAROLINIAN Thursday, December 5,1968 oA Miss Henson Retires As WCU Head Dietician j MISS HENSON Miss Louise Henson, head dietician at Western Carolina Universtiy, has retired after serving 21 years in that position. Miss Henson, a native of Cul= 19whee, came to Western Carolina in 1947. A 1930 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, she taught home economics at Sylva High School for 17 years prior to her appointment. When she came to what was then a small teacher's college, the cafeteria was located in Moore dormitory and serve an average of 300 students daily. Today, the campus has two cafe~ terias which serve aji average of 3000 students per day. For 12 years she served as both manager a dietician for the cafeteria, but as the institution grew, it became necessary for her to concentrate on the duties of dietician. J. Stedman Mitchell, WCU director of food services, said "Miss Henson's fine abilities as an executive and organizer will be greatly missed." Miss Henson is a member of the Cullowhee United Methodist Church and the NX. Home Economics Association. Her hobbies are sewing, gardening, and fishing. Miss Henson will continue to reside in Cullowhee. Mrs. Patricia Carver, a 1965 graduate of Western Carolina, has suceeded Miss Henson as head dietician. And a Happy HANUKKAH Too!
