  • Pisgah data will appear in the forthcoming Guidebook to the Appalachian Trail in the Southern Appalachians. Pending the publication of this book, the data are available at the Appalachian Trail Conference, 901 Union Trust Building, Washington, D. C. The Carolina Mountain Club (Asheville, N.C.) has issued portions of this data in the advance mimeographed sections of its proposed GUIDE TO THE MOUNTAINS OF WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA. Also available from the Trail Conference and on file at the Appalachian Mountain Club is manuscript data, under the title of THE APPALACHIAN TRAIL IN THE UNAKA AND PISGAH NATIONAL FORESTS, giving a general account of the trail route through the Unaka and Pisgah with facilities, suggestions for itinerary, etc. Except for dominating height, the 234 miles of the Unaka and Pisgah afford a typical cross-section of the Southern Appalachians.
