  • Between 1914 and the late 1960s, the Champion Fibre Company published an internal newsletter, called The Log, to share news about the Canton mill, the community, and its employees. After 1940, news from the entire “Champion Family,” which included mills in Hamilton, Ohio; Houston, Texas and Sandersville, Georgia, was featured in each issue.

Mike was ho en "Ho s-of-the-Year" in 1957. Three C hampion girls, Dorothy Cantrell, Ka therine Ray and Virgi n.ia. Blakemnre, are attending weekly study sessions this year to prepare for CPS ratings. Many Hamilton ecret.aries were aware bf the value o( the NSA and had eagerly ttended the seminars and open meetings of other chapters. But a Hamilton c hapter wa on ly a wishful possibility until a chance meeting with Cincinnati NSA officials gave Hilda Loos an opp ortun ity to find. out the most direct procedure to for organizing a group. Hilda Loos Elected Charter President With a promise of sponsorship, Hilda immediately began a persu asive and enth usiastic campaign among her colleagues. And in April, 1957, the Hamilton chapter, Ohio's thirty-firs t, was formally instal led. In apprecia­t ion of her personal efforts to bring tbi about, Hilda was unanimo usly elect d the Charter President. Cin­cinna ti received an award for introducing this "bab •· ·ltapter, which was the largest of the year.
