  • MY COLOR My color is black Your color is white In life, you had it easy In life, I had to fight You gave the command I had to behave You was my master I was your slave You raped my women And made them lose face You treated me like dirt As if I weren't part of the human race I planted your fields I picked your cotton I was the first man at the North Pole Yet, In history I've been forgotten I gave you wonders from a nut Things that you could not believe I did all of this for you Yet, in return, what did I receive? You gave me the nickname "NIGGER" You call me boy when I was a man You did all of this to me Yet, I still stand You sat in the front I sat in the back Because you were white Because I was black But I have learned I am no longer dumb I have brains now And I will over come.
