I can do without a man that doesn't care how I feel, About the way he lies to me and then tries to conceal So my mind can rest easy I'll go elsewhere, To find me a good man who will love me and care. Guy: Wait-a-minute I've got something to say, Don't rush off baby and leave me this way. There is no need for you to complain, Just listen to me and I'll explain. Wife: There is nothing to explain I've already found out, So there is nothing left for us to talk about. I knew you had someone else, but I tried to stay cool, But it got so obvious that I would be a fool, To stand back and do nothing while you did your dirt, And then keep it all to myself even thought it hurt. Hey! Stop pretending because now I know, Not thinking that you would stoop so low, That you didn't really love me from the start, So this is the reason we've fallen apart. This 1978, 36-page book of poems titled Neo-Blackness was published by the Organization of Ebony Students. Named in 1973, the Organization of Ebony Students was originally the Black Students United for Liberation which was founded in 1968 to promote unity among African American students. The organization is now called the Black Student Union and continues to promote the interests of WCU’s African American student body through cultural and educational activities and is open to all cultures.
