  • It is about the size of a modern dictionary. They have not been generous with “__”; less so with giving credits for the “__”; often seem to forget “__” altogether. We have not been through it carefully but are going to do so. I have written to I. K. about it; am waiting for him to explode. He is right touchy about your father getting his just dues. He is quoted many times & given no credit even when “__” are used. Have good news from Klamath. Their furniture arrived just before Christmas, so they feel quite settled. One of his men, whose home is in Ithaca, was here recently — nice appearing fellow. He is a nephew of Mrs. Conley of Ferris Pl. He told Howard the the Klamath job was probably the bigest one of its kind in the U.S. & that G. was making good at [ineligible] He seems to think G. is fine. Roy is at home with no prospects outside of Masonville. He is helping the farmers with the ice & buzzing wood. Has also taken over all the care of Mr. Burnside’s young stock, that he keeps in the Barn on the Bird’s place. Will also help in the sugar work & so on, as things come up. He must be earning current expenses & they are all happy with the friends they have there. Mr. B’s car has been out of commission for some time, so the Birds have been taxiing (?) for them. Just received a fine picture of Tommy. He looks well except his eyes are tired. Guess he is none too happy except for his boy. He wrote
