CORP. LEROY ALEXANDER, Cullowhee, N. C, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Alexander. Inducted April 9, 1943. Trained at Fort Bragg, N. C, Camp White, Oregon, and Fort Mead, Md. Served in the European Theatre of War. Spent 32 months in England, France, Germany, and Belgium, with Medical Dept. 83rd Gen. Hospital. F 1/c RAYMOND E. ALLEN, Cullowhee, N. C, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jan Allen. Inducted Jan. 22, 1945. Trained at Bainbridge, Md., on coast of Washington. Served in the Pacific and China Theatres. Served on Minneapolis (Ca-36). Attached to Task Force 71 for landing troops in Korea, China, and other points. TALMADGE D. ALLEN. -Inducted April 2, 1943. Trained at Camp Blanding, Fla., Camp Joseph T. Robinson, Camp Rucker, Ala. Served in the European Theatre of War. Citations or medals: Purple Heart and 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, American Theatre, EAMET with 3 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct, and Victory. Served with General Patton, wounded in Northern France and in the Rhineland, spent 4 months in hospital in England. Discharged Jan. 2, 1946. Q. M. 2/c FREDERICK S. ALLISON. Sylva, N. Trained at Naval Training Station, Norfolk, Va. Served in the European-Asiatic-American Defense Theatres. Citations or medals: Presidential Unit Citation, Pre-Pearl Harbor, Good Conduct, Five Engagement Stars. Participated in North African Invasion, Invasion of Italy, Invasion of Anzio, Elba Island, Southern France, and North Atlantic Patrol with the sinking of one, possible more, enemy submarines. Discharged Oct. 22, 1945. R. M. 3/c HARRY EDMOND BENNETT, Sylva, N. C, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Bennett. Volunteered Dec. 30, 1941. Trained at Norfolk Training Station, Va. Present at invasion of North Africa, Normandy, Southern France, and Okinawa. His ship was hit by Jap suicide plane off Okinawa. Discharged Oct. 8 ,1945. PFC. JAMES EDWIN BENTLEY. Glenville, N.
