  • COLUMBUS (Concluded) The Red Jacket Consolidated Coal & Coke Company, Inc., of which Mr. H. T. Wilson is President, has opened sales offices in the Hartman Building, Columbus, Ohio. The "Red Jacket" office is within two blocks of the "Ritter" offices. As soon as our new neighbors are settled we hope to call upon them and get all the latest news about the coal business. The Columbus Office Force welcomes Miss Nelle Price, who has joined the Statistical Department, and Miss Marie Goodman who entered the Sales Department recently. We hope they will be successful and happy among us. HAZEL CREEK Born to Mr. and Mrs. William Cable—a daughter on April 16th, who has been named Jeannette. Edora Queen, Alice Birchfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Rickman. The woe-begone look on Mrs. Rickman's face was caused by the sad mistake Albert made when he dug up her nice, spring onions for weeds. Mrs. Grace Pulliam is seriously ill at this time. Jack Bryant and Marl Culbert- son spent two days fishing on Roaring Fork recently. We were unable to learn just how many fish they caught, but we can certainly say that they ate at least one "ramp" each. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Franklin spent two or three days with Mr. Franklin's sister, Mrs. Nelson Hackney at Black Mountain, this month. Ed. Matthews, Flooring Machine Feeder. and Vincent Crisp, Head Endmatcher mar —both single. (N.B. Columbus Office.) Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rickman are visiting Mrs. Rickman's parents, Rev. and Mrs. R. 0. Vance at East La Porte. Mrs. Verne Bateman recently underwent an operation at Johnson City, Tenn. Mr. E. E. Ritter and Mr. A. W. Agee were Proctor business visiters recently. j: ■ sag '■■:•>''.,■■:'■:;■:• i '■-W^"'* ^■^¥i'^/-W'^':i'^rX I ^'-'v^Vr^V:ir;V!:V;XS ■/%:■ : r: " ' '--Sma , %RslllilHWO : ^^WlSlllllitlllll •i ■*** Wf^W*:}''*^' ' H&^^BHVwHh'SL «A*M Li* v Hk. Lail, Jr. This picture was taken just after a good Sunday dinner, hence the happy look on Charlie's face. Mr. J. E. Danielson, now at Maben, but formerly of this place, spent a few days in Proctor with home folks. Mr. Charles Lail, who is in charge of the Hazel Creek Hotel, has just returned from a business trip to the eastern part of the state. Cromer Lee, age 3 years, and Harry Lee, age 5 months. Mr. Frank Russeli, who has been with the Hazel Creek Planing Mill operation for several years, has resigned his position and left April 17th, for Akron, Ohio, where he will work with his brother. Mr. Verne Bateman of Hazel Creek Store, made a business trip to the eastern part of this state on April 10th. Easter Day was a happy one for the children, who enjoyed the egg hunts and many different things which had been planned for them. When you are right you can afford to keep your temper; when you are wrong you can't afford to lose it. Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Craddock and children Billy and Ruth. That looks very much like a fishing rod at the end of the log. "Success consists not so much of sitting up nights as being awake in the daytime." Eh
