  • Jan. 8 – 28. My very dear friend Mrs. Slagle: - Your delightful letter reached me last night, I have read it over and over so many times, and each time I seem to gather new inspiration from it. The papers are so full of everything except the right thing, and the spirit of distrust and hate seems to be ever uppermost, instead of love for each other. I am not good by any manner of means but I do try to live the “Golden Rule” way of life which is the Jesus way of life as nearly as I can understand it. I am so glad that dear “Dick” could spend the holidays at home, I had not heard from him in some time and I was not sure if he was home or not. Yes I do love his picture, it is just like the dear, handsome boy. I have it before me as I write. How interesting that you came
