  • Tell all friends and people to write and give me all the news. Tell Pap if he is drafted to let me know it and also tell him not to volunteer. Let me know how the wheat looks up there and especially ourn. I think if I should live I will get a furlow to come home about harvest and cut wheat. Thomas Wilkie is well, as I am writing before breakfast and my ink and pen bad and me nothing of much importance to write, I must close.
