Whitesides PERSONALS Many friends of Mrs. E. L. McKee, of Sylva, president of the North Carolina Federation of Women's Clubs, will be interested to know that she shared honors with Mrs. Angus W. McLean at the large mid-winter reception given Wednesday evening by the Raleigh Women's club. Mrs. McKee's picture appeared in the Raleigh paper along with Mrs. McLean's Wednesday morning. Mr. Kennon Davis, a former student attended the basket ball game Friday evening, Jan. 22. Mr. Johnathan Brown, also a former student was present at the ball game Friday evening. Miss Ola Francis spent several days at her home in Waynesville. Miss Lucine Wells is returning to Canton this week end, where she will resume her position as fourth grade teacher. Miss Wells will be greatly missed by her friends of Cullowhee. Miss Louise Haiglier spent the week end in Sylva with Miss Sue Allison. Mr. Cecil Lisk of Ela, was a visitor of Cullowhee Sunday. Mr. Vyrne from the Budget Bureau of the State Department, was a visitor in Cullowhee this week. He reported that the books were in excellent condition. We should feel very grateful to our bookkeeper, Miss Mr. Roy Bird of Webster, was a recent visitor on the campus. -,. „ ,, -. . .. . Hunter made a business trip to Hendersonville Friday, 19th. Miss Laura Lynn Harris left for her home in Louisberg Thursday. Miss Harris was called home on account of the illness of her mother. Miss Elgie Woodard left school for home Thursday morning on account of illness of her mother. Hooter Mills decides that if he can't obtain permission to go to games —he will go any how— Miss Judy English left for her home in Mocksville to spend the week end with her friends. Miss Sue Allison spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Allison, of Sylva. Mr. Ernest Twigg, of Hiawassee, Georgia, was a pleasant caller of Miss Beulah Padgett, Feb. 20th. Cullowhee Divides Games With Canton High On January 27 the girls and boys teams motored to Canton where they met the two teams of Canton high in two interesting games. Though the Canton high girls out-passed the players on the Cullowhee team, the Cullowhee boys came forth and brought another victory to their credit by a score of iLne-up and Summary: Boys: Cullowhee (13) Canton (28) L.
