  • THE P-DIS V REPORTS 9:04 p.m. A female student reported that as she was getting out of her car, in the lower Helder Hall parking lot, a male came up behind her and demanded her wallet. When she turned around the man called her by name and ran off. The student was not harmed and nothing was taken. Officers responded but did not locate anyone matching the description. 9 am. Officers served three warrants on a non-student who was found on campus with stolen property. The man had also been arrested in Haywood County. After the warrants were served, he was taken to District Court where he pled guilty to larceny and possession of stolen goods. He was sentenced to time served. He also faces charges in Buncombe County. 4 a.m. Officers received a report of a missing man somewhere on campus. Minutes later, officers received a report that a man appearing to be confused had been taken to the University Center. Officers took the woman who reported him missing to the UC, and she identified him as her father. At about the same time, Jackson County authorities notified University Police that they had received complaints on these people. The three people involved had been asking for money, food, clathes and were attempting to sell jewelry. The three were brought to the police department and were banned from the campus. : ae 19 WAY S 10:41 p.m. Officers investigated a report of marijuana use. Three students were referred to UJC. 11:10 p.m. A ranger reported finding an orange traffic cone in a vehicle parked at the Big Cat Parking Lot. Officers found the owner of the vehicle and told him it was illegal to possess state property. Officers confiscated the cone. 14:55 p.m. Officers charged a non-student with underage consumption of alcohol after he was stopped for speeding. The individual was banned from campus. IN CAMPUS POLICE FILES 6:45 p.m. An intoxicated male student made racial slurs to a University Police Officer. The student also became verbally abusive to OVER THE P, "AS T TWO WEEKS: another officer and was referred to UJC. 7:30 p.m. Officers referred two students to UCJ for alcohol violations at the tailgating area during the football game. 11:28 p.m. Officers investigated a report of a verbal altercation (road rage) situation in front of Scott. When officers arrived both vehicles had left the area. 11:50 p.m. Officers received information concerning problems at a fraternity house off Edgewater Rd. Large numbers of cars were parked on the roadside. Deputies handled the situation. 12:42 a.m. Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated female student. The student's roommate became verbally abusive to the officers and was referred to UCJ. The intoxicated student was transported to Harris Regional Hospital. 1:35 a.m. Officers charged a male student with alcohol violations and reckless driving. 1:47 a.m. A male student was cited for driving while impaired and under-age drinking. 2:45 a.m. A male student was arrested for resisting officers. reckless driving, and DWI. by Emily Weaver| WCnewsmagazine Playing in the raging rapids of ) flooded Cullowhee Creek. The investigation is continuing. 9:22 p.m. Officers cited a male non-student for driving without a license. 11:35 p.m. Officers cited a male non-student for speeding 42 mph in a 20 mph zone. _ Loud, racist, and no respect for } the law, but its 0.1K. since you were drunk. 1:40 a.m. Officers arrested a male non-student for DWI and having improper equipment. 2:29 a.m. Officers assisted WCU EMS at the lobby of Harrill where a male student was unconscious. He had been found unconscious at the KA house and brought back to campus where he passed out again at the elevators. He was transported to Harris Regional for treatment 10:10 p.m. A female student reported that she was being sexually harassed by another female student in Scott Hall. The investigation is continuing. Caught drinking under-age and having to answer to Mommy after ' the cops call her to come get you. 10:57 p.m. Officers found three underage non-students with alcohol. Their parents were called to come get them. Two of the three were banned from campus. 12:45 p.m. in connection with the sexual assault logged yesterday, the victim's roommate claimed she was threatened by a female friend of the suspect. The female friend stated that she had been threatened by the victims roommate. Officers advised all parties to cease and desist with all communication. 8 p.m. Officers charged a male non student with driving while license revoked, no insurance, and displaying a fictitious tag. He was charged with obstructing and delaying a police officer for lying about his name. After serving time in Haywood County, you come to Western only to be caught again with arrants. 11:30 p.m. A female student reported she had been assaulted by an ex-boyfriend off campus. Although she had minor injuries, she property and iene Law refused to press charges or to tell officers the ex-boyfriend's name. You fought the law an Time not recorded: Officers responded to a report of intoxicated males throwing apples at Walker. Two of the subjects ran and were Wor. apprehended behind Scott. They are referred te Judicial Affairs for resisting an officer and under-aged consumption. Using a fake ID to buy alcohol . and getting caught on campus, when you thought you were in the clear. 10:25 a.m. Officers investigated an obscene email sent to a faculty member. Officers tracked the origin of the email and a student has confessed. The matter has also been referred to Judicial Affairs. 11:19 am. Officers are investigating the theft of two memory cards from computers in the Belk Building. 1:30 p.m. Officers served a warrant on a student for the Sylva Police Department. The warrant was for a fictitious driver's license used to purchase alcoholic beverages. 8:45 p.m. Officers cited a female student for parking in a handicapped space and using a fictitious handicap placard. and not noticing the biue lights 9:00 p.m. While making rounds, officers spotted two state road signs. The possessor of the signs turned them over to the officers. and sirens on your tail... until 6:30 p.m. Officers found two male students wading in the rapids of Cullowhee Creek at the Walker A bridge and warned them about _ you get home that activity. * 8:10 p.m. WCU Police assisted with the evacuation of Park Place Trailer Park. Evacuations were being conducted at Calamity Court in Tuckaseegee, Park Place, University Trailer Park, and Hooper's Trailer Park. 3:10 a.m. Mandatory evacuations began at the above locations and at Alpine Apartments, Carolina Village, Theta Xi, Sigma Chi apartments and those adjacent, the old Lambda Chi house. This resulted in only two students ending up at the Ramsey Center for shelter. Total number of people at Ramsey at 6:00 a.m. was 9. Driving recklessly, after drinking, _ Getting drunk, being underage, . throwing apples at Walker and running from the cops. Too much fun for under 21. 1:11 a.m. Officers were called to Central Drive Hall in reference to a disorderly person visiting a resident. The person (a non-student " had left when officers arrived but was located later on campus. The person was banned from campus.
