The Western Carolinian Page 2 Thursday, October 1, 1992 News Volume 58 Number 8 Shuttle goes to Sylva Amy Seeley StaffWriter Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the University Center runs a shuttle bus between 4:15-7:15 pm. The bus is run every hour, on the hour, from the Reid Gym/University Center commuter parking lot. The shuttle bus is driven into downtown Sylva and a number of area shopping centers. This service is designed to help students who may not have transportation go shopping and run errands. Because the shuttle bus service is operated with funds provided by student fees, included in each student's standard tuition cost, it is free to students. To use the service, students need only to present a validated student ID card. If the demand for this service increases significantly, the days and service hours may also be increased. This year, a new bus has been purchased and is being used to transport up to 13 students. Federal regulations required the purchase of die new bus, while the old bus was sold to be used in the University motor pool. For more information on the shuttle service, drop by the University Center or call at 227-7206.
