  • The Western Carolinian 7 Thursday, February 12, 1987 Scott's Week Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art in Winston- Salem. Theexhibition is being held in the Chelsea Gallery of the U.C. from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to midnight Friday, 10:00 a.m. to midnight Saturday, and Sunday from noon until 11:00 p.m. Admission is free. Wednesday, Feb. 18 William Shakespeare's classic comedy, "Much Ado About Nothing" will be coming to WCU. This marks the return of Jeff Clark, a 1978 WCU graduate who will be a featured performer in the production. Clark earned a bachelor's degree in speech and theatre at Western. The play is an updated version of Shakespeare's classic. This is set in Cuba in the 3CS. The play will be at the Ramsey Center, and starts at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and WCU employees, and $3 for WCU students and youths (4-18). Advance tickets are available at the Ramsey Center. (Photo by Diane Gorodnitski) On the Air With Power 91 Business Manager Beth Young tdwtn Carlton Photo By MUSIC MANN ENTERTAINMENT WRITER Beth Young serves WWCU - Power 91 - as the Business Manager. She is a sophomore majoring in Radio and Television and minoring in Journalism. The duties that Beth performs as JJusiness Manager include purchasing materials for the radio station, working with the personnel at the Controller's Office and Purchasing department in the HF Robinson Administration Building, keeping a record of all the station's expenses, and handling all of the executive staff's stipends. ThQt's basically what she does, and from al indications she really enjoys it. She must: she plans to run for Business Manager again in April she told us at the newspaper. Beth graduated from McDowell High in Marion, NC, in 1985. She had decided in November 1984 that she wanted to attend WCU. Radio and Television broadcasting have always been of interest to Beth, and since Western offered a Radio and Television major with a small student-to-teacher ratio, she knew that Western was the college for her. Roth's brother. David, is a senior here majoring in Business Management, and her mother obtained her Master's Degree here. Beth therefore sees attending WCU as a family tradition. Her career goal is to be a sportscaster, but Beth feels this is a long way down the road. "I just hope I end up doing something I enjoy, because you have to enjoy what you do or it is meaningless." Along with her involvement on the executive staff of Power 91, Beth is vice-president of Alpha Epsilon Rho (the National Broadcasting Society), and she is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta. Her hobbies include listening to music of the 50's, 60's, and 70's, tennis, basketball, cycling, and watching movies. She also enjoys skiing, but she does not get to go as often as she would like due to low funds and the fear of breaking her legs. Beth enjoys being at WCU and her job at the radio station. "WCU has been great so far. I'm really glad I'm involved with Power 91 and I see the future as getting only better," she concluded.
