  • Page 10 /THE WESTERN CAROLINIAN/February 7, I9H0 LMP presents fall budget to SGA Last Minute Productions laid its cards on the table in reviewing its fall semester budget before the February 4, 1980 student senate meeting, and was given a clean bill of health by its parent. A financial record presented to the senate by LMP member Mark Williams showed the company's expenditures, (just over 73-thousand dollars) in comparison to the budget for the year (which runs close to 126-thousand dollars). Williams said that at the mid-year, LMP had spent 47 per cent of its budget, and that because of good ticket sales at concerts, such as the Little River Band and 1-LO. the company is doing "rather well." Money also concerned the senate during passage of a bill that will request on-campus phones be placed in Brown and Dodson Cafeterias and additional phones in the University Center. "The money for these phones," said SGA President Roger McKinney, "will come from WCU, probably through the student government services budget." Hopefully, the phones will be installed by mid-term. With thoughts to last semester's backlog of appealed traffic tickets which necessitated the establishment of an emergency committee to handle the cases, the TMISSPACE CONTRIBUTEDBY THE PUBLISHER Tell Your Mother You're Going to Study When the spirit moves you—or when your spirit needs moving—move on up to the mountains and the Waynesville Country Club Inn. Presently, it was noted, some 35 appeals are heard each week, but this additional two weeks to submit a report, falls short by almost 15; with a second court, "a prompt and speedy trial will be guaranteed.'' The senate approved Debbie Potter, Lisa Woniack, and Paula Sain to the board of Last Minute Productions. In wake of the verbal beating last by SGA Vice-President Richard Sullins to "Get cracking," several senators introduced legislation (now under study in committees); the membership of all senate committes was rearranged, and senator Ronnie Abernathy was expelled for excessive absences.
