NOTICE: sometimes the staff gets carried away and there appears in the paper wierd contacts or fillers, Consider this a normal Beallism orGro- tophorstism. The sophomore never finished worse than second and captured five first place finishes, The 7-1-1 record the Cat runners finished with was the best cross country record in WCU history. But that record may only be in the books a year - all of this year's runners are returning next year and with a little luck in recruiting two or three top runners, visions of an undefeated season must be dancing in Jones' head. The supreme test will come next November in Springfield, Massachusetts where the NCAA Division II national cross country finals will take place. Jones, admitting he's putting himself on the spot, nevertheless makes this 'out on a limb' pred'etion; "If this group continues to improve and run like they have this year, and if there can be a minute improvement in their times, we'll finish in the top ten in the nation!" Stick around for a year and we'll see if Jones' crystal ball is true to form. CARE HOLIDAY GREETING CARDS BRING JOY TO THE WORLD... BRING JOY TO HER.
