  • These WERE Chemistry Labs What can happen when the wrong combination of chemicals is mixed is shown in these pictures, taken after two of the most disastrous explosions in college laboratories in recent years. At left is the Columbia University lab in which 11 persons were injured by flying acid. The blast at the University of Chicago chemistry lab, right, was so violent that it ripped out tile walls, injured Prof. Frank Westheimer and three graduate students who were working with him in research on chemical Solvents. Acme Pboloj CAMELS ! There's an added pleasure in giving Camels at Christmas. You know your gift will be so genuinely welcome. More smokers prefer Camels than any other cigarette. And that preference holds for men in the Army, the Navy, the Marines, and the Coast Guard, too! So remember those lads in uniform... remember all the cigarette smokers on your list...with the cigarette of costlier tobaccos—Camels. Your choice of the package of four flat fifties or the popular Camel carton.
