  • The Greeks Fraternities Delta Sigma Phi Delta Sigma Phi fraternity was founded on December 10, 1899, as cooperative movement of the students from the City College of New York University. Delta Omicron, here at WCU, was affiliated nationally in December of 1959. Delta Sig ranks among the top 20 fraternities in membership as well as number of chapters. The two major social functions are Carnation Ball and Shipwreck. They are nationally known as the Fraternity of Engineered Leadership. A college fraternity such as Tau Kappa Epsilon, is a select group of men with similar ideals, hopes and purposes bonded together by deep friendship and mutual understanding. TKE has a spirit of genuine democracy and chooses its members "not for wealth, rank, or honor, but for personal worth and character." Tau Kappa Epsilon, "The fraternity of life," was founded at Illinois Wesleyan University on January 10, 1899. Alpha Phi Omega The finest frontier...Service! Join us in the voyages of the Alpha Phi Omega, its primary mission: to explore new ways of developing leadership, friendship and service...to boldly go where no fraternity has gone before. Like Star Trek, service is more popular today than ever before. But our program of service has never been cancelled throughout our fifty-three year long history. That is why we are the largest Greek letter fraternity in the Nation. Alpha Phi Omega is a coed fraternity that is open to both men and women. The service ideas of Alpha Phi Omega are derived from, but not governed by, the Scouting movement. Alpha Phi Omega men and women engage in different areas of service. Alpha Phi Omega means service and in the course of performing service leadership emerges and friendships are formed. If any man or woman is interested in joining this very worthwhile fraternity please contact any brother or call 293-9439 day or night and...Be a Friend, Be of Service and Be a Leader.
