I still have your check for fifty dollars and am willing to place ray cm beside it, hut other than this, I have no available funds for any purpose at present, I have done all in my power to secure funds I have not, however, succeeded and certainly cannot at this time assist with funds toward the banquett in Washington, Deeply regretting that I have caused the Washington crowd annoyance and again regretting that I must be cautioned about approaching the press «h«a the only article I have sent to the press has been upon the solicitation of our Washington friends, I am., Very truly yours, Sec-Treas., A. This correspondence addresses the possibility of hosting a banquet for U. S. representatives in 1901. Although members of the Appalachian National Park Association did travel to Washington D.C. to meet with members of Congress, it appears that this banquet was never held.
