  • THE ENTERPRISE, CANTON, N. C. The Canton Enterprise The Canto Heading i» Entered as t*«.onu-e)ass matter May 2, 1911 at the post office at Canton, N. C under the Aet of March 8, 1879. FRIDAY, MARCH 28. 1919. Peace Hasn't Freed All the Kitcii* en Slaves No home can be a happy one as long as the|wife and mother is a kitchen slave. Most of the slavish work done by her in a kitchen is due to an inefficient stove which requires laborous attention. The Detroit Vapor Stove which burns kerosene without wick or ordor and doesn't make the whole house like an oven, will insure a happy home. Sluder Furniture Co., CANTON, IN. G. The Hub Would Work With the Spokes. ■ Not the least strained was the quality of the welcome given the members of the Western North Carolina Press association, by the Asheville Board of Trade, in the city of Asheville, last Friday afternoon and evening. j Proof, unstinted, substantial j and palatable, was lavished on " weekly newspaper ed' the tors of Western North Carolina, showing the interest of Ashe ville's super-alive business organization in Western North Carolina as a whole and in the country publishers, who, if prop erly supported, can and will find their chief joy in doing much to advertise and develop the resources of this wonderful region. Huite generally, outside of Asheville, her proud position as "the hub ot Western North Car-" a," is reckoned not as the least of her assets. That Ashe- ville's desire becomes more and more evident that the hub and the spokes in our rapidly advancing wheel of progress, shall work together in perfect harmony, is a much to tfie credit of her perspicuity. Have the Courage of a Well Dressed Man A well dressed man more easily can look the world squarely in the face and make his own way than one shabbily clothed. Clothes may not entirely make the man but they go a long way. Let us measure you for a new suit of clothes today. ROYAL PRESSING CLUB VV. H. KEZZIAH, Prop. This the 26th day of March, 1919. T. A. CLARK, Com miss Be Thou Clean. Dirt is the acknowledged fecund mother of disease. The man, habitually clean without and within, ten times out of nine, is continuously well and happy. So the habitually clean town, by a large majority, never fails to elect herself to the very important position of perennial, potential preserver of public health. By so much more as an entire community exceeds in numbers a single individual, does the command, "Be thou clean," apply fo it. Free School of Thrift Taught Daily at This Store Not even excepting when the late great war was at its height and tbe fate of humanity hung in the balance, was it more true than now, that the miser is a menace to his country and the foe of freedom. Uncle Sam wants us to spend money, giving it in return for the best quality, either of labor or of merchrndise. thi_ is a quality grocery store, where everything but prices is high. Buying the best for the lowefet prevailing price is the big thrift lesson taught daily at this store. J. M. CURTIS, Jr. PHONE 234 The Quality Sanitary Grocery Store (First pub. Mar. 28; Last pub.
