Ito ang naging wakas ng Hukbong Amerikano pagkatapos ng ating pagdaluhong mula sa himpapawid sa Pulong Wake noong ika 8 ng Disyembre. With our attack from the air on Wake Island on December 8 this is what happened to the American Air Force. ANG PAGSUKO NG PULONG WAKE CAPTURE OF WAKE ISLAND NOONG ika 23 ng Disyembre, 1941, sinuong ng Hukbong Hapones ang mga paputok ng kalaban sa Pulong Wake hanggang sa ito ay lubos nilang makamtan. Ang mga bihag ay dinala sa Hapon. Ang ngalan ngayon ng Pulong ito sa Hapones ay "O-Tori-Zima". C^N December 23, 1941, the Japanese Marines defying enemy's fire invaded Wake and took possession of the Island. The prisoners are now in Japan. The island now has a Japanese name "O-Tori-Zima".

This edition of Japanese propaganda magazine, “Shin Seiki” (text in Tagalog and English), published by the Department of Information, was brought back to America by Carr and Ruth Hooper who were interned at Santo Tomas Internment Camp in Manila, Philippines from January 1942 to February 1945. Hand-written notes made by Carr refer to several photos and captions. The camp, also known as the Manila Internment Camp, was run by the Japanese military during World War II and housed over 3,000 internees from January 1942 until February 1945.
