  • possessions of said lands and have the title thereto adjudicated; and said Commission is vested with the same powers with reference to any ungranted land that lies within the area designated for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park as it possesses with reference to the other land acquired under the provisions of this Act, but when said Commission shall ascertain by Court proceedings or otherwise that the State has title to lands in said Counties lying outside said designated area, it shall convey the legal title thereto to the Tennessee State Park and Forestry Commission, to be held by it for the use and benefit of the State. SECTION 23. BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That it shall be, and is, made the duty of the Attorney-General of the State of Tennessee, to file and conduct all condemnation proceedings and litigation provided for in this Act, or that may arise by virtue of any and all proceedings hereunder; to investigate and pass on all titles to the lands within the area to be acquired, and all judgments and deeds under which the State acquires said lands; to draft and supply all forms and instruments necessary for negotiations, agreements, and deeds; to advise all officials and agents in all matters relating to their duties under this Act; to recommend, if he deems it necessary, to the Governor, the appointment of assistant or special counsel to aid and assist in the performance of the duties imposed upon the Attorney-General by this Act, and upon such recommendation, the Governor is authorized to make such appointment; provided, that no funds received from the sale of notes or bonds, as hereinbefore provided for, shall be used in paying any part of the compensation for services performed by counsel thus designated. SECTION 24 OF CHAPTER 54 OF THE ACTS OF 1927 was amended by CHAPTER 99 (page 313) of PUBLIC ACTS OF 1929 as follows: "BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: SECTION 1. That Section 24 of this said Act, Chapter 54, Public Acts 1927, be amended so as to read, as follows: "That the United States of America is authorized to acquire by conveyance, and said Commission is authorized to convey to the United States, pursuant to this Act all lands hereinabove mentioned and for the purposes set out in the Act of Congress above mentioned, and exclusive jurisdiction shall be, and the same is hereby ceded to
