34 here and supported so many of the North Carolina people in 30 many ways, and I am still further glad and thank the members for supporting our state in the splendid manner they have. As in the past like for as secretary I shall do the oest I can. I wouid/every member and every gentleman who desires to become a member to come forward and sign the book and deposit the membership fee. Mr Murhpy: I move that the Board of Directors cause tail association to be incorporated. Seconded and carried. Mr Wittkowsky: Where are the funds to come from to pay for the incorporation? I move that the members pay up their two dollars be fort retiring. Seconded and carried. *% mis the members present and those desiring to become members went forward and signed the book and paid the fee. They were as follows:

This 38-page document describes the November 22, 1899 meeting at which the Appalachian National Park Association was formed. Included in the meeting minutes is a speech by Senator Marion Butler (1863-1938), a U.S. Senator from North Carolina. The minutes include short addresses by others as well as election results and the formation of committees.
