CAMPUS KINDERGARTEN For four years a Campus Kindergarten has operated on the College campus, where children of pre-school age of the College community and of parents spending a part or all of the summer at the College are privileged to enroll. It is the plan to continue the benefits of this special service this summer, particularly for the first term, and for both terms, if demands justify. Children between the ages of two and one-half and six years are eligible to enroll. Those already six should enroll in the College Demonstration School (where the schedule of charges varies slightly from that in the Kindergarten). Registration for a child in the Kindergarten for each six-week term of the Summer School is $3. Tuition is in accordance with the schedule agreed upon between the parents concerned and the teacher of the Kindergarten—whether for only the morning or the afternoon or both. No fees are refunded. Parents interested in enrolling their children in the Kindergarten will communicate and deal directly with: Miss Anne Rabe Telephone 2273 Cullowhee, North Carolina Recreation Recreation features at Western Carolina College are many and varied. The mountain setting offers beauty of scenery and an ideal climate. Fishing, boating, and mountain climbing, nearby, are available. On the campus, one may enjoy dancing, swimming, and movies. An organized program of recreation under trained personnel will be conducted on the College campus. A special summer feature within a thirty-minute drive of the College, which for the last seven summers has attracted visitors from every section of the United States, will be the Cherokee Drama "Unto These Hills," planned to be resumed at about the time of the opening of the first term of the Summer School. The story of the tragic removal of the Eastern band of the Cherokee to Oklahoma and Indian Territory under the administration of President Andrew Jackson in the 1830's is specially featured in this drama. In its seven seasons, "Unto These Hills" has drawn capacity audiences from tourists coming from over the entire United States. Its success has exceeded all expectations, the various seasons' attendance surpassing that of any other out-door drama in America. The College plans special motor trips to Cherokee for the purpose of giving its students opportunity to see the play. The play will run during both terms of the Summer School. At least one or more excellent lyceum attractions are planned, free of charge, for those enrolled in the Summer School. These, too, will be provided in both terms.
